Feed Sasha the White Tiger for a week!

Colchester Zoo's male white Bengal tiger is called Sasha and was born at Zoo Parc de Beauval in France in March 1995 and he came to us in January 1998. White tigers are very rare in the wild and haven’t been seen for many years, probably due to their lack of camouflage and subsequent inability to hunt with stealth. Sasha is fed 9kg of red meat per day, six days a week. The seventh day, a Friday, is kept as a starve day to mimic feeding patterns in the wild to enable them to have a day to expel indigestible parts of their diet such as fur and bones. It costs £25 to feed Sasha for a week. Make a donation now and you will receive a special certificate.

Feed the rhinos for one day!

Our rhinos are fed a varied diet consisting of up to 6 bales of meadow hay per day, as well as 15kg of pasture mix pellet and horse and pony nuts, and a small proportion of fruit, vegetables and bread, which are especially used for training. It costs us £25.00 to feed our four rhinos for one day. You can help and will receive a special certificate of thanks. At Colchester Zoo we have four Southern White Rhinos; a male called Simba and three females called Flossie, Emily and Cynthia. Simba and Flossie are two of the oldest residents at Colchester Zoo, both arriving in the early 1970s. They were both quite young when they arrived and we believe they were probably born in the late 1960s. Emily and Cynthia are still both quite young. They arrived in 2003. Cynthia is a couple of years older than Emily and we believe they are between 8 and 10 years old.

Feed Subu and Leoni the African Lions!

At Colchester Zoo, we have an adult pair of African lions called Subu and Leoni. Subu was born at Woburn Safari Park in April 1989 and came to Colchester Zoo at 8 months old. Leoni, our female, was born in September 1996 at Blairdrummond Safari Park in Scotland and came to us in June 2005. The lions are fed 6kg of red meat a day so it costs £20 to feed both lions for 3 days! Make a donation now and you will receive a certificate thanking you for your generosity.
