Zoo Pass Prices
Colchester Zoo has a vast annual membership family who are vitally important for the zoo’s future.
We appreciate that since COVID it hasn’t been as easy for Zoo Passholders to visit due to the restrictions that the zoo has to implement to open safely but would like to thank all the passholders for their support and understanding whilst we try to get through this challenging time together.
Zoo Passes have remained at the same price since 2017 despite further benefits being added to the scheme and admission prices increasing. There was a pass price increase due in April 2020 but this was deferred due to the pandemic. However, following the additional closures experienced and the financial implications keeping the Zoo Passes at this price going into 2021 is not viable for the zoo.
Therefore, upon reopening Colchester Zoo Pass Prices will increase slightly to the following;
|Pass Kind||Current Pass price||2021 Pass Price|
|Adult 16 – 59yrs||£65.99||£69.00|
|Child 3 – 15yrs||£45.99||£49.00|
|Senior 60yrs +||£55.99||£59.00|
Even at these prices Zoo Passes remain great value for money with amazing benefits!
Please be aware that during restrictions at the Zoo due to COVID-19 we cannot guarantee unlimited visits. Your visit date and a time slot MUST be pre-booked due to COVID-19 safety measures we have in place to help manage the capacity within the park.

20% OFF Pass Renewals on reopening!
For Zoo Passholders who would like to renew their Zoo Pass when we reopen, as a celebratory discount for reopening, we will be offering a 20% discount until 28th May 2021 off of the new Pass Prices.
Renew early to avoid disappointment!
If your pass expired from the 1st December until reopening you will qualify for the renewal discount as your pass has been affected by the zoo’s closure. This is whether you chose to donate any time remaining on your Zoo Pass or requested an extension.
If your pass has expired in this period, when you renew your pass it will be valid for 12 months from the date of the zoo reopening rather than from the date of your purchase.
If you are renewing your Zoo Pass in advance of your pass expiring, 12 months will be added to the date of your current expiry date.
If your Zoo Pass expires after we reopen you have 4 weeks after the expiry date to renew your Zoo Pass and receive our consecutive renewal discount, your Zoo Pass will then be backdated to the previous pass expiry date.
This offer will only be live and available to purchase from the date of the Zoo reopening and valid until 28th May 2021.
Terms and conditions apply.
When the zoo reopens it will still be necessary for Zoo Passholders to book their visit and time of arrival in advance online. This is to enable us to maintain social distancing within the park with a limited capacity each day.
To begin with on reopening we will be releasing tickets 2 days in advance for both paying visitors and passholders. Both will have to book a time slot for arrival on the day of their visit up until zoo close. As restrictions ease we will review the booking system.
We kindly ask that all Zoo Passholders be kind to one another by not bulk booking slots. We hope that by releasing tickets 2 days in advance it will avoid risk of cancellation and offer fair opportunity for everyone to book and enjoy a safe visit.
The capacity is broken down fairly between paying and non-paying visitors which means that the zoo will be running not only on a limited capacity but an even further reduced paying capacity to normal. This means even upon reopening the zoo will still be fighting for its future after the detrimental affects the pandemic has had. It will take a number of years for the zoo to recover and return back to the position it was in in 2019 when the future of the zoo was bright and exciting.
You can further help us by purchasing food and drink at the zoo during your visit which is freshly prepared on site by our staff who are health checked daily and follow strict health and safety procedures. You may also like to purchase a souvenir from our gift shop or even adopt an animal or participate in an animal experience! Find out ways you can help here.
We’re so very excited to welcome you back to the zoo, staff and animals alike miss you all – it’s not the same without you!
