As of 23rd March 2020, the difficult decision was made to temporarily close Colchester Zoo to customers. As a result of the closure, we appreciate that those with Gold Pass or Animal Experience Gift Vouchers to redeem will be affected as they are unable to exchange their vouchers within the expiry date timescale that is written on the back of the voucher.
However difficult the situation, we are very pleased to let you know that in these circumstances the expiry date on your voucher will be extended for 4 weeks following the reopening of the zoo to enable you to obtain your annual pass or book your animal experience within that period.
Note – this does not mean you will have to participate within the experience within those 4 weeks but simply to book the experience with our Experiences Reception. The experience will have to be taken within 12 months of our reopening date and at no additional cost to yourselves.
We politely urge you to regularly check the zoo website for details of our reopening date. Once the date is clear, if you have an Animal Experience Gift Voucher you should communicate with the Experiences Reception directly at email@example.com and they will work with you to identify an available date for your experience. We suggest you to do this sooner than later once we have reopened as these experiences do get booked up very quickly.
If you have a Zoo Pass Gift Voucher, bring this along with you on your visit within the 4 weeks that we reopen and redeem this for your Zoo Pass with our Guest Services team.
