At Colchester Zoo we are very conscious of the fact that the experience for our visitors with disability is different to that of many of our other visitors due to the terrain of the park. We therefore offer a reduced rate for those with disability and their assistant.
We admit each guest with disability at half the adult admission price, we also admit one person to assist the guest with disability at the same rate and this ticket must be purchased in the same transaction.
Any guest with disability requesting a half price ticket will be asked to provide documentation for verification. This could be in the form of a blue badge, a letter from a recognised authority, or a bank statement confirming the customer is in receipt of DLA. Please note that these options must be supported by photo ID and that Max cards are not accepted. Please note that if you plan to show your blue badge at the entrance, the blue badge will need to be taken back to the car afterwards to authenticate your parking in a disabled parking bay. Once verification has been received, the ticket will be processed in the normal manner.
Please be assured that we are aware of our visitors' experiences; as the zoo develops and areas are renewed, the needs of wheelchair users are always taken into account as a priority.
