At Colchester Zoo we are aware that the experience for our visitors with disability may be different to many of our other visitors. We therefore offer FREE entry for an assistant upon request to those who require support during their visit.
We admit each guest with disability at our standard rate along with one person who we will admit as a free assistant; this ticket must be processed in the same transaction and must be requested upon entry, we cannot refund any tickets purchased for an assistant after the point of entry.
Any guest with a disability requesting a free assistant ticket will be asked to provide verification. This could be in the form of a blue badge, a letter from a recognised authority, or a bank statement confirming the customer is in receipt of DLA. Please note that these options must be supported by photo ID and that Max cards are not accepted. If you plan to show your blue badge at the entrance, it will need to be taken back to the car afterwards to authenticate your parking in a disabled parking bay.
Please be assured that we are aware of our visitors' experiences; as the zoo develops and areas are renewed, the needs of those with disabilities and wheelchair users are always taken into account as a priority.
The above guest with disability & assistant pricing policy changed came into place on the the 29th October 2018. CLICK HERE to find out more.
