Volunteering at Colchester Zoo
Animal Ambassador
Do you love the natural world? Do you want to contribute to saving species and habitats? Do you like talking to people about wildlife? Have you got one day a week to spare?
The Colchester Zoo Animal Ambassador programme provides you with a fantastic opportunity to develop your knowledge of endangered species and their conservation, as well as the chance to experience the workings of a zoo environment.
Responsibilities
- Meeting and engaging with new people
- Assisting with pop-up activities
- Answering visitor questions
- Assisting with special events
Requirements
- At least 17 years old
- Available for a minimum of 1 day a week
- Good organisation skills
- Friendly and approachable
- Willingness to meet new people
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as a team
- Experience in teaching, training, demonstrating or presenting is desirable but not essential
- Training will be provided
Zoo Host
