Otter pups are named!
Thanks to your votes our otter pups have been named!
The results are in…Introducing females Rosie, Sally & Sprout, and male pup River!
The public vote to name our four otter pups began at the end of February when our Animal Care Team completed a health check and revealed their genders. Mum, Summer, gave birth to four girls and two boys, but very sadly one of the male pups and one female pup have since passed away. However, our remaining four continue to do well and, with your help, they now have their names!
Our Animal Care Team shortlisted names beginning with ‘S’ and ‘R’ after mum, Summer, and dad, Ravi, before we asked you to choose your favourites, with Rosie, Sally, Sprout & River coming out on top!
Your fantastic donations raised over £1,250 for our Zoo Operating Fund, which will go directly to helping us provide the highest standard of care to our animals.
We hope it won’t be long before you can come and see our 4 youngsters for yourselves as they explore outside, learn to eat tasty fish and continue to grow!
