Coppery Titi Monkey Baby Born!

On 6th November 2022, our Titi monkey family welcomed a new arrival!

This is mum, Whiskey’s fifth baby born with dad, Colby since they arrived at Colchester Zoo from Blackpool Zoo in August 2018. This species can be quite shy, but the Animal Care Team have been monitoring the family closely and the new arrival is doing well.

Coppery Titi monkeys are native to Brazil and Peru and live in tropical forests where they spend all of their time in the trees. They live on a diet of fruit, insects, leaves and seeds and, when sleeping, can often be seen with their tails intertwined.

On the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species, Titi monkeys are classed as Least Concern.
