We have limited availability and cannot guarantee a hire will be available, please bear this in mind when booking your tickets.
HIRE A BUGGY
Advanced Notice: Strollers will not be available to hire on Thursday 9th May due to essential maintenance works.
Colchester Zoo offers both single and double stroller for hire to help the little ones on their journey around the zoo!
We have a limited number of strollers available to hire and so we do recommend pre-booking them in advance (24hrs notice is required for pre-booking). Please complete the Hire Enquiry Form below and a member of the Guest Services Team will be in touch. Please be aware that until a confirmation from our team is received, an enquiry is not a confirmed booking due to the high demand.
Strollers are available for children age 1-6 years.
Hire Prices:
- Single stroller: £7.00
- Double strollers: £9.00
A £25 returnable deposit will be required on the day of your visit in order for the stroller to be released to you (deposit price is per buggy)

WHEELCHAIR & SCOOTER HIRE
You can hire a wheelchair or electric mobility scooter from Colchester Zoo at the main entrance.
We have a limited number of wheelchairs and scooters available to hire and so we do recommend pre-booking them in advance (24hrs notice is required for pre-booking). Please be aware that until a confirmation from our team is received, an enquiry is not a confirmed booking due to the high demand.
Mobility scooters are available for hire by those over 18 years ONLY.
Hire Prices
- Manual wheelchair hire: £5.00
A £20 returnable deposit will be required on the day of your visit in order for the wheelchair to be released to you. (deposit price is per wheelchair) - Mobility Scooter hire: £25.00
A £30 returnable deposit will be required on the day of your visit in order for the scooter to be released to you. (deposit price is per scooter)
Please note: The weight limit for our Electric Mobility Scooter hire is 350lbs.
Hire Enquiry Form
You can hire our strollers, wheelchairs and mobility scooters at our Hire Point located within the Zoo, close to our entrance, where a member of our entrance team will spend a few minutes briefing you on the handling of the hired item. You will then be asked to sign a disclaimer and pay your deposit and hire fee.
