Zoo Passholder Warning
Unfortunately, there have been a number of Passholders abusing the booking system since reopening on the 2nd December and the requirement for Passholders to book a time slot in advance of their visit.
We have had days where over 500 passholders have not turned up to visit therefore taking away the opportunity for the zoo to have welcome other passholders who would like to visit and paying visitors too!
On initial reopening passholder allocation was being booked up so quickly that we decided to offer more spaces to passholders to allow more to visit within the safe capacity that we currently are working to. Brilliant news we thought – Passholders would like to come and support the zoo so this additional capacity was added as an act of kindness and a gesture of thanks to all those passholders who supported us through closure. As a result of adding more passholder capacity we are in fact offering more free visits to passholders than we are for paying visitors and the passholder availability remains limited due to high demand.
HOWEVER, there are a number of passholders who are abusing the system and booking multiple slots and not turning up. We appreciate that some have valid reasons for not being able to come and those people are calling or emailing to advise us of their cancellation and reason for which we are very grateful and understanding but this is the minority unfortunately.
If this behaviour continues through this week, we will have no option but to make booking for passholders limited to 48hrs in advance to reduce the number of no-shows and cancellations that are occurring. This action will be taken without hesitation and with the future of the zoo in mind.
Please think before you book – if you are unable to visit after booking please do get in touch with us with as much notice as possible so we can free up availability for others. Think of others, do not pre-book bulk dates in advance.
