NEW Dinosaur Realm – Dinos have landed at Colchester Zoo!
We are currently developing a new DINO-MITE experience for all ages to enjoy!
Regular visitors may have noticed some BIG new arrivals last year, who are currently in quarantine until our wonderous walkway is developed and ready for them to be released into their new home. Throughout the winter period, we have continued to work on our old display’s lawn, turning the new area into Dinosaur Realm, due to open Easter 2024!
When this new experience is complete, your prehistoric journey will begin near Gelada Bridge and take you into the past with a range of animatronic dinosaurs, including a Brachiosaurus that stands just under 5 metres high. You will come face-to-face with creatures from the Triassic, Jurassic, and Cretaceous period – leaving you feeling like a true palaeontologist!
Each magnificent dinosaur will be paired with fact files and information so you can discover more about the creatures that once lived whilst surrounded by foliage, shrubbery, and a large pool for an immersive experience.
Whether your favourite dino is a herbivore or carnivore, our Dinosaur Realm is the ultimate destination within the Zoo for any adventure!
