School Risk Assessment

Covid-19:

Following government guidance from the Department for Education which states that “In the autumn term, schools can resume non-overnight domestic educational visits” Colchester Zoo is accepting school visits, including educational sessions.

To do this, we have carried out the relevant risk assessments and have prepared the park to ensure a safe visit for everyone with Covid-secure measures in place. In order to re-open safely we have introduced a number of restrictions and conditions which we kindly ask all visitors, including school visitors, to please comply with.

Please see our Covid-19 FAQ webpage for further details of what the zoo is doing for all visitors and any updates or changes made.

Zoo Responsibilities:

Colchester Zoo strives to provide a safe and enjoyable day out for schools. Colchester Zoo’s risk assessment guidance sheet provides a general outline of potential risks and controls. Please note that these are guidelines only and all organisers are recommended to complete their own risk assessment prior to a school visit. Two free familiarisation tickets can be requested for this purpose after you have made a school booking.
