Essex Mum Award Nominees!
We are once again pleased to announce that Colchester Zoo has been nominated for a number of Essex Mum 2021 awards – A huge thank you to all of those who nominated us! It means so much to us after what has been such a difficult 18 months that so many of you still selected us for these fantastic awards, one being ‘Best Day Out – Outdoors’, the second is ‘Best Event (Halloween) – Shriek Week’, and a third for our previous Breakfast with Santa event for ‘Best Event (Christmas)’.
We have worked extremely hard since reopening to create a safe and fun day out for families, and during our temporary closure, continued to care for our animals and collect your generous donations to help us survive such uncertain times.
Our events of course have not been the same during the pandemic, but we hope we have brought a little bit of magic with what we have offered, particularly during our Halloween and Christmas events which we have modified, we feel, for the better, to offer some spooktacular and festive days out for all the family.
Each visit made to Colchester Zoo not only helps us to survive, but it also assists the Zoos charity, Action for the Wild, which helps conservation projects worldwide, including our own UmPhafa Nature Reserve in South Africa. Colchester Zoo is continuously working with both the animals and visitors in mind; with the aim of conserving endangered species and raising awareness of the wonders of wildlife.
