We are pleased to announce that Colchester Zoo has won the Essex Mums Award 2022 for Best Day Out Outdoors for the ninth year in a row!
After being voted for this award, the top ten nominations were then selected from each category to go through to a final round of voting. We were then chosen as the Best Day Out Outdoors and our Shriek Week was picked as the Best Halloween Event!
We would like to thank all those who voted for us, we’re very honoured to have been selected as winners again! Our Magic of Christmas event also received a highly recommended award which we are very grateful for. You can see the full list of winners for each category on the Essex Mums website.
Why not come and experience our events yourself? Join in with our FANG-TASTIC Halloween themed activities taking place from 22nd to 30th October 2022 during our award-winning Shriek Week, suitable for the whole family. If you dare, you can face your fears on our Trail of Terror which is a pre-booked evening event – only for the brave! Our festivities then continue for Christmas, come and immerse yourself in the wonderful Christmas atmosphere with our festive activities taking place during our highly recommended Magic of Christmas event. Why not try our NEW event for 2022 and take a walk through our Enchanted Trail of Light, this is a pre-booked event after zoo hours and has limited availability so book now to avoid disappointment.
Not only does your visit provide a ROARSOME day out for the whole family, but it also assists the Zoo’s charity, Action for the Wild, which helps conservation projects worldwide, including our own UmPhafa Nature Reserve in South Africa. Colchester Zoo is continuously working with both the animals and visitors in mind; with the aim of conserving endangered species and raising awareness of the wonders of wildlife.
